Second weekend - Earth Lodge

Weekend #2 - Earth Lodge!

So the first weekend was just me walking around Antigua like a zombie (thank you jetlag) and finding my way around. This weekend I met some new people from Maximo (my volunteer organisation) and we went to the Earth Lodge, which is on an avacado farm 20 minutes out of Antigua.

Thats me, Erica, Margot, Dainia and Sarah :)

We were told that a shuttle bus would come and pick us up, and of course it was late! Apparently there's a thing called "Guatemalan time", which means everybody is always late haha.

When the shuttle bus did arrive, Sarah and I were getting coffee at a nearby cafe, and we just heard Erica say "Girls, you should see the shuttle it's really nice!!" And we were like, thank god. But then we looked outside and saw this...

It's just a ute that we have to all sit in the tray! Soo funny, there were a few other people too and it was a challenge getting everyone in!

But once we got there it was sooo beautiful, worth the bumpy ride!
All we did all weekend was relax. There were hammocks everywhere and I spent most of the time just enjoying the view.

And we stayed in a dorm room that smelt like paint... but we got it half price ;)
